Robin Shuriken

The Shuriken is a bird-shaped throwing weapon used exclusively by Robin, and by Bruce Wayne briefly during his early year as a non-lethal ranged attack alternative to firearms, however Bruce used the actual shuriken instead of the current modern gadget that it is now. The Shuriken share close similarities to the Batarang.

The player had an unlimited supply of Shuriken which could be equipped by holding L1/LT/RMB (PS3/XBOX360/PC) and thrown by pressing R1/RT/LMB (PS3/XBOX360/PC). You could also initiate a "Quickfire Shuriken" throw by just tapping L1/LT/Q (PS3/XBOX360/PC) and it hit the closest or most important target without fail.

Shuriken stunned enemies that didn't see them coming. In combat, Robin could chain them into his combos following an upgrade. In the Arkham Origins Initiation DLC, Bruce Wayne could throw Shuriken and also do a Shuriken Takedown.

Trivia[]

  • Shuriken are actual real-life weapons, that are small, metallic, and usually star-shaped projectiles that are used in common ninja stereotype like the Katana. They originated in Japan, and are used by ninjas.
  • Robin's Shuriken was also called a "Birdarang" in other various DC media, like in the TV series Teen Titans.
