Mines are an enemy weapon that appears in Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Knight, in various different forms.
Variants[]
Vantage Points[]
In Asylum, City, Origins and Knight, enemies occasionally planted explosives on vantage points to prevent the player from using them. Before Knight, the vantage point was destroyed upon detonation, but they remained usable in Knight, presumably so the player could travel quickly from underground to vantage points if every vent cover was destroyed.
Land[]
Landmines were used by enemies from Arkham City onward. If an enemy carried mines with them, they could plant them on the ground to make the player's movement more difficult. These mines were recognized by the detective mode, and isolated them from the enviroment with yellow color. They were also vulnerable to every version of the disruptor, and could be detonated to take out an enemy non-lethally.
Incident reports[]
Arkham Origins Incident[]
As he attempted to infiltrate the Assassin's meeting, Batman found himself in a large pool area on one of the Royal Hotel's top floors. As he took out Bane's henchmen guarding the room, the gang activated explosives hidden on the vantage points in the room, causing them to explode if Batman attempted to use them.
Several enemies utilized Landmines throughout the night. In addition, Vantage points could be rigged to blow by using a modifier on custom challenge maps.
Arkham Asylum Incident[]
As Batman tracked Joker trough the asylum, he re-visited the intensive treatment center. Several of Joker's Henchmen, including Razor, were fitting the vantage points of a predator room with explosives. Before Razor could get to safety, Joker tested the mines, killing Razor.
All Vantage Points were fitted with bombs during Extreme challenges.
Arkham City Incident[]
Enemies once again used landmines throughout the story mode, albeit Vantage point mines did not return outside of custom challenges.
The Riddler used several landmines as parts of some of his riddles.
Arkham Knight Incident[]
Landmines returned, and worked largely identically to those in Arkham City. If an enemy saw Batman grapple to a vantage point or The Arkham Knight recognized the strategy upon over-use, they would throw an explosive on vantage points. These explosives could be destroyed with the disruptor.
Campaign for Disarmament[]
Throughout the night, the Militia planted large explosives around Gotham City, to prevent the military or any other superheroes from opposing them with threats of instant destruction of the entire city. Batman defused the explosives, by filling each one with various viruses uploaded from the Batcomputer, and kept the opposing drones at bay with the Batmobile.
