Batman, Deathstroke and Bruce Wayne are playable in all of the Challenge Maps; except for Batman, however, they are additional characters and require the player to own their DLC content in order to be playable in the Challenge Maps. All non-DLC maps have an expert variant. An asterisk denotes downloadable content.

Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman are playable in all of the Challenge Maps; except for Batman, however, they are additional characters and require the player to own their DLC content or the GOTY edition of the game in order to be playable in the Challenge Maps. Every non-DLC map has an expert variant. An asterisk denotes downloadable content.

Characters

Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman, Red Hood, Batgirl, Azrael and Harley Quinn are playable in all of the character Challenge Maps. As with previous games, DLC characters require the player to own their DLC content in order for them to become playable in the Challenge Maps. Most of the Challenge Maps have a single player and a respective default character that can be changed by the player, while some involve Dual Play between two specific, immutable characters. An asterisk denotes downloadable content.

All non-DLC maps can be launched from Story Mode. All combat maps have both Normal and High difficulties, and the player can freely toggle between them before launching the challenge map; expert variants for all non-DLC maps can also be launched from New Game +. The Hard variant is set on Knightmare difficulty: enemies are faster and tougher and counter icons are removed, but the player is rewarded extra points (Knightmare Bonus) for successfully completing the Challenge Map.

Earning all three stars on a challenge map (Regardless of character; Max 1 WTP per map) gives one Waynetech point to be spent on Story Mode. As DLC maps are always available even before starting the story, they can be a great way to gain a head start on Story Mode. Note that if any WTPs are collected before starting the story, the player needs to exit and re-enter story mode after gaining control of Batman to be able to use them.

Combat

Predator

Batmobile

The Arkham Knight version of the Batmobile is playable in all of the challenge maps. Additional versions of the Batmobile lack the game version's unique battle mode; therefore, they are only playable in all of the Race maps. They cannot be used on the Combat or Hybrid challenges, with the only exceptions being the challenges Road Rage and Seek and Destroy, which only require pursuit mode.
